Home of more than 230,000 Haut-Rhinois in the free loan bookmobiles that criss-cross the 274 municipalities of less than
15,000 inhabitants.
More than 456,000 documents, including 29,000 CDs.
In addition, 8,900 audiovisual documents (VHS and DVD) are available to the public in the network libraries.
30,000 new documents are acquired per year.
The Haut-Rhin libraries portal, Calice 68, created on the initiative of the Haut-Rhin Departmental Media Library, has expanded its network and acquired new functionalities.
25 libraries will now be available for consultation from the portal: Altkirch, Bantzenheim, Bergheim, Blotzheim, Bollwiller, Chalampé, Ensisheim, Herrlisheim-près-Colmar, Huningue, Illfurth, Kingersheim, Landser, Lapoutroie, Lutterbach, Niffer, Orbey, Pulversheim, Ribeauvillé, Riedisheim, Riquewihr, Rosenau, Volgelsheim, Wettolsheim, Wittelsheim and Wittersdorf. They join the libraries of Biesheim, Cernay, Fessenheim, Guebwiller, Kaysersberg, Kembs, Mulhouse, Ottmarsheim, Pfastatt, Roderen, Rouffach, Saint-Louis, Sainte-Croix-Aux-Mines, Sausheim, Soultz and Thann and the Departmental Media Library of Colmar .
With the new ergonomic and user-friendly presentation, readers will be able to add comments and opinions on books, records or films in just a few clicks, from their home. Blogs are available to Internet users who are also offered multiple-choice navigation (simple, guided, etc.). In addition, the descriptions of books and videos have been enriched by numerous external sources (biographies of authors, film trailers, etc.)
Calice68 also makes it possible to locate the libraries of the department and to know the practical information (opening hours, conditions of registration, ...) concerning them. The portal also displays the program of events.
Calice68 is the culmination of cooperation between Upper Rhine libraries promoted by the Departmental Media Library as part of its Public Reading Development Plan.
